Watch Like A Hawk...
Above is a photo my husband took of a hawk that was watching all the birds in our yard. In the photo the hawk is sitting on the peak of the neighbor's detached garage that's right beyond our back fence. One day we sadly saw a hawk take off with a little bird that was hiding in our large hedge in the yard.
We live right smack dab in the middle of a fairly large city, so I'm surprised a hawk was visiting our little neighborhood. The closest uninhabited foothills are miles away, but I guess they fly for miles to find their prey.
Tomorrow is Friday! Now that's something to celebrate.

Hi there! That hawk is amazing. Luckily you had your camera close by. I always see amazing things but never have a camera close.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Come again anytime.

It's really fun to see such a beautiful wild bird right smack dab in the middle of civilization. I used to see a falcon from time to time and have even had pheasant appear in my yard, but it has been awhile since I've seen a hawk where I live. Very nice shot.

Great picture! Maybe he thought the food choices were better in the city!

Wow, I've never seen a hawk just sitting there like that. What a wonderful time to have a camera handy.

What a gorgeous bird, although it is sad when we see them catch another bird, but then they need to eat too. I have one near me that I see watching my yard at times too, which really surprised me. However, I guess as we expand our areas there is bound to be more overlap of territory. Your newest house in your neighborhood looks great, I'll look forward to seeing the one you recently started develop.

I didn't realize that they snatched up other little live birds. I only thought lizards etc. That's crazy! Well I guess if we didn't have them our small bird population would be huge!!!!!!!
